The "Swordsmen" of VF-32 fly the F-14A Tomcat out of NAS Oceana, VA and trace their history back to Feb 1945. They transitioned from the F-4B Phantom to the F-14A Tomcat in 1974, being one of the first to do so. This is the squadron that shot down 2 Libyan MiG-23 "Floggers" after being engaged over international waters. They participated in Operation Desert Shield/Storm, and claim to be the last Navy aircrew over Baghdad. This is the desert version of their last aircraft patch created to commemorate the end of the Tomcat with the dates 1974-2005.
