This is a reproduction of the "SILVER FOXES" patch they created when they were flying off USS RANGER (CV-61) in support of Operation DESERT STORM. This shows the 2 x engines: Pratt & Whitney J52-P-8B turbojet engines developing 9,300lb of standard thrust. They were established as Reserve Attack Squadron 71E in 1946, redesignated as Reserve Attack Squadron 58A, redesignated as Reserve Composite Squadron 722 in November 1949, then as VA-728, then as VA-155. They were disestablished in September 1977. This patch is from when they were a light attack squadron, but were later re-commissioned as an A-6 squadron (with a different logo) and participated in Operation Desert Storm. This patch does not have velcro attached.
